Job Summary:
The Vander Weele Group has an exciting job opportunity for a motivated Editorial Assistant to join our talented team. As an Editorial Assistant, you will proofread, edit, and format a wide range of documents, including business reports, proposals, presentations, and manuals. You will take content in various forms to create training. To be a successful Editorial Assistant, you will need to demonstrate an excellent command of the English language, an art for creating beautiful documents, and the aptitude to learn complex information so you can assist in crafting meaningful, impactful written work. The ideal candidate must have excellent attention to detail, as well as phenomenal editing and proofreading skills.
Job Duties:
Review documents from writers and other staff to ensure documents meet all company guidelines and are free from grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors.
Edit documents and presentations for a more polished final product.
Take content from various types of documents and convert it into different formats in a way that speaks to the purpose and audience.
Absorb large amounts of information and synthesize it into smaller, more digestible bits.
Fact checks regulations and similar items, ensuring information is current.
Check for and fix inconsistencies in formatting, layout, and style.
Compare documents against each other to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Review material multiple times to ensure accuracy.
Proofread and edit documents before being sent to clients or published.
Ensure that all changes have been made correctly and that the final product is error-free.
Perform additional tasks as necessary, such as keeping track of content databases, managing digital files, and assisting with webinar preparation.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, or related field.
At least four years of experience in a similar role.
Has a strong command and love of the English language.
Amazing eye for detail.
Fact-checking research skills.
Excellent grammar, syntax, and communication skills.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Advanced skills in computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Having iSpring skills is a plus.
Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
